All the Gorrie details

Here's a caricature of Canadian Caricaturist and Illustrator, Sam Gorrie (hence the really bad pun in the title). I recently stumbled onto her blog and it's a whole lot of fun. Some fun videos and great artwork.

I like both versions for different reasons. The sketch has some fun detail (some of which got lost when coloured) and the colour version conveys more of Sam's personality (the colours of her hair and eyes).

The Britney Spears one is soo awesome, but theres no point in saying that because I can say the same with all your other caricatures.

thanks for the compliment! It is really nice and encouraging to hear that from an amazing artist such as yourself. I aspire to have skills like yours some day :)

hello Chris.
lovely expression that you've captured. Did you use the same technique to paint it as the paperboy step-by-step on your tutorial? I haven't drawn a caricature in a while, I think I should have to take a stab on this one.

p.s. that desk of yours is too clean for an artist! :p

Thanks everyone!! You're all too kind.

Heri- Yep, same technique as the paperboy painting. Only difference is that I now use Painter 8 instead of Painter Classic.

HAHAHA, thanks for posting this Chris. I'm pretty flattered. Its 100% me, and you havn't even seen me live.
Now I use it as reference when drawing myself, sort of a combination of yours and the ones that Marlo Meekins did at the con. (marlomeekins.blogspot.com)

Grigor, don't beat yourself up over it, there's an empty frame in my closet waiting for you when you're ready to try again. Next year I'll have different hair, smaller eyes and complete loss of innocence.
